See Spot Read is open to all breeds and sizes of dogs provided they meet the following criteria:

• They must have passed the Canine Good Citizen test, as administered by a qualified trainer, and received the CGC certification from the American Kennel Club (AKC). This test is open to all dogs, regardless of breed and the certification is an indication that the dog has achieved a certain level of obedience training and has been evaluated for temperament.
• The dog must have successfully completed a pet therapy training class with a qualified trainer.
• The dog and handler must have been evaluated by a qualified tester from one of the nationally recognized pet therapy groups.
• The dog must get along well with other dogs, and obviously, love children
